Before You Get In Touch

  • For best results, please supply vector artwork in AI, EPS or print-ready PDF format. These formats allow accurate colour separation for screen printing and ensure crisp, clean edges in the final print. We generally do not accept bitmap file types.

We can also work with high-resolution SVG files where they contain true vector elements. JPEG and PNG files are raster-based and are often unsuitable for production, as pixelation can result in soft or “furry” edges once printed. These files usually need to be redrawn into vector format before printing.

Supplying correct vector artwork significantly streamlines our pre-press setup process and helps us maintain production efficiency and print accuracy.

We strongly recommend professionally prepared artwork and advise against using online conversion tools, as these rarely generate true print-ready vector files.

If you’re unsure about your file type, send it through and we’ll review it for you.

  • Minimums vary depending on product type and print complexity. While small runs may be possible for simple designs, most commercial screen printing requires higher volumes due to setup and kiln firing processes. We confirm minimums once we review your product and artwork.

  • Production timelines depend on order size, stock availability and print complexity. Lead times are confirmed at the quoting stage, and we recommend allowing sufficient time for larger or multi-colour runs.

  • No. Clients must supply print-ready artwork. We do not create logos or offer design services as part of our printing process. We will prepare artwork for print and can assist with minor adjustments, sizing and colour separation. However, we do not provide full branding or logo design services.

  • Our processes are designed for commercial production rather than one-off items. Small runs may be available depending on the product and artwork, but we are not a single-unit print service. On occasion, we may advertise availability for one-off, single item orders.

  • We can source glassware, ceramic cups and other products through trusted suppliers or print onto approved client-supplied stock. We will confirm compatibility before production. Please note that not all products are suitable for our printing process. If we cannot use a product you wish to supply, we can help find a suitable product in a similar style with one of our suppliers.

  • Yes. We deliver nationwide across New Zealand, with secure packing to protect products during transit.

  • The Glass Printery prints in a wide range of colours, including custom PMS (Pantone) colour matching to ensure accurate brand reproduction. We also offer specialty inks, including selected metallic finishes. Additionally, we offer finishes that can replicate laser engraving/etched glassware.

As part of our pre-press process, we confirm colour suitability for screen printing and kiln firing to ensure consistency and long-term durability across your production run. We offer colour printing on coloured ceramic surfaces, although we need to test for suitability to ensure the desired outcome is possible.

  • Yes. The Glass Printery specialises in multi-colour screen printing, with each colour applied separately for accurate registration and consistency. We review artwork during pre-press to confirm colour separation, alignment and suitability for kiln firing. PMS colour matching is available to maintain brand accuracy across your production run.

  • No. not as long as the correct care instructions are followed. All ceramic and glassware printing is kiln-fired at a high temperature, permanently bonding the ink to the surface. For ceramics, we fire the products until the outer glaze softens, allowing the ink to penetrate and sit within the glaze. This makes the print 100% permanent.

This creates a durable, scratch-resistant finish suitable for commercial dishwashers and daily hospitality use. We also offer kiln-cured glassware options, which are more suitable for domestic use. This may be the recommended ink for corporate gifts. Kiln-cured glassware is generally less resistant to scratching due to being fired at lower temperatures. However, it's formula is more resistant to a broader range of detergents, making it safer for domestic use.

  • Glass and ceramic products are handled using controlled processes to minimise breakage during production and transport. While minor losses can occur in any kiln-fired manufacturing environment, allowances are built into our planning to ensure your final delivered quantity meets the agreed order volume.

If products supplied to us arrive damaged, or if breakage occurs during delivery, The Glass Printery will work promptly to rectify the issue. We typically hold additional stock to enable efficient replacement where required.

If you are supplying your own glassware and working to a strict deadline, please advise us in advance so we can implement additional handling precautions.

In the event of delivery damage, evidence of breakage (photographs and packaging details) will be required for insurance and freight claims.
